After I predicted in yesterday’s post that stage 7 would suit the punchy riders and prove too difficult for the sprinters; the purest of the pure sprinters, Caleb Ewan, rode to a commanding victory after chasing down a fading Fernando Gaviria and holding off a surging Davide Cimolai and Tim Merlier who rounded out the podium in 2nd and 3rd.
