Tadej Pogačar, hands-down the sport’s premier rider, sent shockwaves through the sport recently when he was filmed performing reconnaissance (and looking shockingly good doing it) on the most infamous section of Paris-Roubaix, the Trouée d'Arenberg (or Forest of Arenberg) with his UAE-XRG team last weekend. While the sight of Pogačar effortlessly floating over the roughest section of “road” in cycling via a cryptic Instagram post had everyone asking if he was really planning on calling an audible by throwing one of the toughest and most specialized races on his calendar, the more interesting question is if he should.
