I like your logic about Tadej going for a hot start. The big question to me will be if stage 1 with mostly Cat 2 climbs, is hard enough for Pog to go on an attack or does he aim to light off on stage 4?
Apparently not! Your intuition was proven correct. In retrospect, the final climb was also too far from the finish to net any amount of time that made the effort required to stay clear worth it.
Luckily, we should get a look at the GC riders at the end of today's stage.
Great write up, really hoping Vingegaard is near his best so that we get another awesome battle. I'd personally rate Carlos Rodriguez on the same teir as Jorgenson. I think the longer race favours him and he's had better recent performances than the teir 5 contenders.
You are both correct about Rodríguez. He was actually originally supposed to be in the third tier, but got accidentally cut out and never replaced during editing. I just now have to hope he has a terrible race to prove my accidental omission correct.
