Something to be aware of when it comes to using FloBikes: in the past they have been notoriously bad at avoiding spoilers of race results. For example, if you log in to watch a race that has finished, they will often show something on either their homepage or the page for the specific race that indicates who won, and it's very difficult to find the recording of the race without inadvertently seeing the results. That may have changed, but as of last season, it was still a problem.
Well done Spencer even though this reaffirms how bad the situation is. I like to watch Cyclocross races during winter trainer rides so will sign up to Flo monthly ($29.99) for just December and January. And the UCI puts the World Cups on YouTube with the same feed. I actually tried the VPN / Canada route on Flo when GCN+ first went away and found it still frustrating ( I could get in via iPad but that would not streat to a TV via AirPlay….). Speaking of the UCI it seems they would be the organization to solve this by working with ASO, Flanders Classics RCS etc. to create a World Feed subscription option. But I guess they are too busy checksock height and rider celebrations to actually promote the sport.
One hack is to use a VPN service to connect to a Australian server which allows you to view the Australian broadcasts on SBS and 7Plus. The Tour Down Under is broadcasted free in Australia on 7Plus. Thanks for this information Spencer!
This is awesome, Spencer! Thank you! I have Max and Peacock and was thinking about adding Flobikes. I love Phil and Bob, so I will keep Peacock no matter wnat, but I would love to dump Max and get a VPN to state I am in Canada to get all the races on FloBikes. I would love to get to watch races again from the beginning, but that is hard to find. It sounds like the option of paying through an account in Europe is unrealistic. Although, I do have friends in Europe that I could have pay it for me. Maybe I will consider this option. This is great information.
Pretty sure Phil Ligget recently announced he has retired from broadcasting races so it might just be Bobke and CVV. If only Peacock would bring back the option for the world feed in addition to theirs like they did a few years ago. Hyperbole aside Rob Hatch inherits Phil’s role as the “voice” of cycling.
Thanks Spenser, this is great. I’ve been wondering how this was all going to shake out.
I went the VPN/ Flo route last year and it worked out pretty well but I still ended up with Max for a few of the races because I couldn’t watch them on Flo while VPN to Canada. The underhanded way they suck you in is ridiculous by way of not being clear on what races are available in different regions.
Thank you ! Was wondering what the landscape would look like this year and got hit with my FloBikes auto renewal (ugh) in December, so will “glad” it work out again to VPN + flo. Still super disappointed that there isn’t more access to eurosport coverage except for a handful of max races. Can’t stand peacock’s coverage. Hoping for better options in 2026, keep us posted!
This list is super helpful. Thanks.
